We are to tell people that we are Christians, be up front about it. And to offer to pray for healing when that’s needed. We are nothing less than Jesus’s representatives on earth. He wants us to get to know people on his behalf.
"Then he sent them to tell about Jesus’s kingdom and to heal the sick" Luke 9:2
There was once a man who had been feeling down for so long that he finally decided to seek the aid of a psychiatrist. He went there, lay on the couch, spilled his guts then waited for the profound wisdom of the psychiatrist to make him feel better. The psychiatrist asked me a few questions, took some notes then sat thinking in silence for a few minutes. Then he gave his diagnosis: "I think your problem is low self-esteem. It is very common among losers."
Sometimes we all feel we are not achieving enough, or that nobody likes us. If only we had a better job or a better car. Or if only we were better at exams or better dressed or more popular. Jesus the Son of God thought differently. Remember, we are important to him and he has a job for us to do.
