The graveyard shift
Standing in the churchyard as the eulogy was read,
Parishioners mourn at solemn words that were said.
They all looked around at the many tears shed,
As the coffin cortege was respectfully led.
Suddenly, the people just shifted and then fled,
And the vicar stood astonished filled with dread.
Shocked by the headstone he lowered his head,
At the immortal statement, 'Religion is dead'.
